Young Ratan Tata: Rare Photos That Capture the Essence of a Legend!

When it comes to the most pioneering names in the Indian automotive industry or India in general, the name Ratan Tata is one that immediately springs to everyone's mind. The emeritus of Tata Sons joined the company when he was fresh out of college. Ever since then, he has taken the company to new heights. So today, we would like to share with you pictures of Ratan Tata when he was younger.

The first picture is from the launch of the Tata Estate station wagon. At the time of its launch in 1992, he shared the frame with none other than JRD (Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhoy) Tata. Ratan Tata shared these pictures on the 117th birth anniversary of JRD Tata.

In this picture, Ratan Tata was seen posing with the Tata Sumo. The SUV was named after Sumant Mulgaonkar, who was the former MD of Tata Motors. It was said that this name was very lucky for Tata Motors.

Ratan Tata shared the picture of him with the first Tata Indica on the occasion of this hatchback celebrating its 25th anniversary. In this picture, Mr. Tata was seen holding a microphone at the factory where the first-ever Tata Indica hatchback was produced.

This particular picture of Ratan Tata was taken back in 2008 in Mumbai. It was the launch of the Tata Indica Vista, the successor to Mr. Tata's beloved Indica. It was launched with a price tag of Rs 3.49 lakh.

Ratan Tata, despite his age, was very active behind the steering wheel of his car. He used to be regularly seen driving his cars. One such picture showed him driving his white Honda Civic sedan. Some people, at the time of the release of this picture, even trolled him. However, Ratan Tata is known for his down-to-earth nature, so he did not respond.

As we said, Ratan Tata loves driving cars, and what he loves even more are convertibles. He owns several of them, and one of his favorites is his Mercedes Benz SL500. He has been spotted on multiple occasions driving it on Marine Drive in Mumbai.

When it comes to taste in cars, Ratan Tata has impeccable taste. He also owns a Ferrari California T convertible supercar. This particular car is finished in the iconic Rosso Corsa shade. He used to be regularly seen driving this convertible in Mumbai as well.

After acquiring the British luxury carmakers Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford, Ratan Tata fulfilled his dream. For those who may not remember, Ford once humiliated Tata by walking out of the deal in which Tata wanted to sell its car business to it. In this picture, Ratan Tata was seen with the Jaguar C-X75 Hybrid supercar concept.

The Tata Nano was the dream of Ratan Tata, who wanted every Indian family to own a car. However, it failed miserably due to the wrong marketing. This particular picture of Ratan Tata posing with the Tata Nano was taken back when it was being launched in Mumbai.

This particular picture of Ratan Tata standing next to the iconic Tata Safari was taken back in 2012. At the launch of this SUV, he was accompanied by the late Cyrus Mistry, who was named the chairman of Tata Motors at the time.
