Man jumped off Worlds Largest Cruise Ship: A passenger on the world's largest cruise ship, the Royal Caribbean Icon of the Seas, has committed suicide by jumping. According to reports, the man jumped off the cruise ship on the first night of the seven-day voyage.

According to the New York Post, the man jumped from the 1,200-foot-long, 20-deck-high cruise ship while leaving Florida for a week-long cruise in the Caribbean. The plane was carrying 7,600 passengers and 2,350 crew members when the incident occurred. Rescue operations began immediately after the fatal jump.

The cruise ship deployed one of its rescue boats to locate the man and bring him back, the New York Post reported, citing the Coast Guard. The man was brought to the cruise ship in critical condition and died. The US Coast Guard was not involved in the incident except to assist in the search for the unidentified person, the newspaper reported. The ship stayed for about two hours. So, the crew members helped the Coast Guard to complete the search and rescue mission.

The cruise ship has more than 40 restaurants, bars and lounges. “Icon of the Seas will responsibly deliver the world's best vacation experiences,” Royal Caribbean Group President and CEO Jason Liberty said in January.
