Some of the workers, who did not want to be named, said the heat has also reduced the number of cloth-cutting workers, affecting the production of bags. On the other hand, visitors get sick from the heat. Regarding the matter, PIATA DGM Ravi Ranjan Prasad said arrangements have been made everywhere from ventilators to relief from heat and he has no information about fainting. A week ago 10 workers were admitted at the same time and 10 workers fainted due to heat. Reports suggest that some have shifted to private hospitals as well. Lately, one or two such incidents are happening daily. On the other hand, other workers in many units stopped coming after seeing workers falling while working. The workers have demanded to increase the facilities at the workplaces during the summer season. So with better productivity, the health of the workers will also be better.
