Girish Sodankar has been entrusted with the responsibility of screening committee to select candidates for Jharkhand assembly elections. Congress has inducted Poonam Paswan and Prakash Joshi as board members. At the same time, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has been entrusted with the charge of Screening Committee of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress fared better than last time in Maharashtra and Haryana.
