West Bengal ex- CM, CPM leader Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee passes away
Kolkata, August 8: Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, the former Chief Minister of West Bengal and the last leader of the Left regime in the state, passed away at his residence on Palm Avenue in South Kolkata on Thursday morning. He was 80 years old.
His daughter, Suchetana Bhattacharjee, confirmed his death, stating that he fell ill after breakfast and passed away shortly thereafter. He is survived by his wife, Mira Bhattacharjee.
Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee served as the Chief Minister of West Bengal from 2000 to 2011, succeeding the late Jyoti Basu, who was the longest-serving Chief Minister of the state
