New Delhi. The Tis Hazari Court has sent Vibhav Kumar, accused in the assault case on Aam Aadmi Party MP and former Delhi Women's Commission Chairperson Swati Maliwal, to three-day police remand. Delhi Police had sought a 5-day remand for Vibhav Kumar. Metropolitan Magistrate Gaurav Goyal pronounced the order on this. Now Vibhav Kumar will be produced in court on May 31. Earlier also Vibhav Kumar was sent on remand for 4 days. A day earlier on Monday, the Tis Hazari Court had rejected Vibhav Kumar's bail plea. Swati Maliwal, while opposing Vibhav's bail, had said that I am constantly receiving threats. I am also being threatened with rape. In such a situation, if Vibhav is granted bail, then my life and that of my family may be in danger.

There was a heated debate between Delhi Police and Vibhav Kumar's lawyer in the court. Delhi Police's lawyer said that Vibhav has made a video of the incident and he has admitted that he has formatted his phone. We have to find Vibhav's other phone. Vibhav's lawyer said that if the phone has been formatted then it is not mentioned in the FIR. The mobile is in your possession, you can retrieve the deleted data from it. After all, why would an accused create evidence against himself. It is worth noting that Vibhav Kumar was arrested by Delhi Police on 18 May. After this, on 24 May, the court sent Vibhav to 4-day police remand which ended today, after which Delhi Police presented Vibhav in the court from where his remand was extended by three days.
