Universities will conduct undergraduate first year exams by the first week of August

New Delhi: The University Grants Commission (UGC), which is trying to bring the disrupted academic session of universities back on track since the Corona crisis, has directed all the universities to start first year undergraduate classes first. Before the week of August, all universities and higher educational institutions have also been suggested to complete the admission related process.

Citing the rules, UGC has also asked the universities to release their academic calendar soon, so that the academic activities of the institute and its affiliated colleges can start on time. As part of the initiative to bring the academic session back on track, the Commission has also suggested releasing the results of previous graduation classes by the end of June. It has also been suggested to start classes for the second and subsequent years of graduation by the first week of July. At the same time, considering the project work and internship etc. in professional courses, the Commission has given two more weeks’ time. It is suggested to start postgraduate classes immediately after graduation. The Commission believes that the academic calendar should have been released by April 15.
