The judge further said about the organization, “Their purpose is to discourage those who are their members from acting. They create divisions between people who live in unity among themselves and who could and will live together in peaceful coexistence.” According to prosecutor Tom Little, after the organization's leader was jailed in Lebanon in 2014, Anjem Choudhry became the caretaker emir of this organization.
Police collected evidence after joint investigation
Police from Britain, the United States and Canada gathered evidence following a joint investigation. According to the evidence, Choudhry was running and directing ALM in New York through online discourses with followers based in New York.
