Triumph Thruxton 400 Could Be Launched Very Soon In India – 39.5bhp, USD Forks & Much More

The Triumph Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400X motorcycles have gained tremendous traction in the Indian motorcycle market with their powerful engine, decent hardware and aggressive pricing.

Now, the company is gearing up to launch a new motorcycle based on the same platform.

This upcoming motorcycle from Triumph will be a cafe racer-style motorcycle, and it is most likely to be named ‘Thruxton 400’. Moreover, the upcoming Triumph Thruxton 400 will be more closely related to the Triumph Speed 400 than the Scrambler 400X.

However, the upcoming Thruxton 400 will come with few mechanical changes compared to the Speed 400. These changes are likely to include a more aggressive seating position, inclusion of semi-fairing, and slightly more rear-set footpegs.

All of these changes will make the Triumph Thruxton 400 a much more aggressive motorcycle than the Triumph Speed 400. Also, thanks to its semi-fairing, we expect the Thruxton 400 to be a lot more aerodynamic and have a slightly higher topspeed.

In terms of powertrain, the Triumph Thruxton 400 will continue to sport the same 398cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine as the Triumph Speed 400. This engine in the Speed 400 produces 39.5bhp at 8,000rpm and 37.5Nm of torque at 6,500rpm.

Though the Thruxton 400 will sport the same 6-speed gearbox (With slip and assist clutch) as the Triumph Speed 400, the Thruxton 400 may have revised drive ratios to achieve a higher top speed.

Hardware-wise, the Triumph Thruxton 400 will be identical to the Speed 400 with its tubular steel perimeter frame with a bolt-on rear subframe, a twin-sided cast aluminium swingarm, 43mm USD forks at the front and a gas-charged monoshock at the rear.

Thoughts About The Triumph Thruxton 400 Motorcycle

The Triumph Thruxton 400 will be a valuable addition to Triumph’s lineup as it will play a key role in further boosting the sales figures. Also, this model will make the Triumph Thruxton range of motorcycles a lot more affordable.
