Toyota Motor has had serious success in its Hybrid SUV segment in the Indian market. The RAV4 hybrid, Toyota’s top-selling SUV in global markets which is expected to make its way to Toyota’s line-up in India, was seen being tested on the roads of Delhi

Toyota Motor, with the introduction of Hybrid VehicleS in the company’s line-up, has experienced huge success with models like the Innova HyCross and the Urban Cruiser HyRyder, which are currently on sell in the Indian market.

The RAV4 has been seen in India before being tested. This time, the test vehicle had stickers stating that it was “ON TEST BY ARAI”. Automotive Research Association of India, also known as ARAI is a testing and evaluating establishment for new electric and hybrid vehicles in the Indian market.

The RAV4 is offered with two electric motor options in global markets which is paired with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that puts out 200bhp and about 250Nm of peak torque.

Toyota is using the same tried-and-tested Hybrid Synergy Drive Technology in the RAV4, developed by Toyota Motor, which is used in other Toyota models like the Camry and the Prius in global markets.
