Top 10 Cars In February 2024 – Tata Motors & Mahindra Gain Momentum

India’s automobile industry is experiencing significant growth in recent years with February 2024 showing a whopping 37.94 percent growth in sales of the top 10 cars in India.

1,61,378 cars have been sold in just one month of February collectively between the brands Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Mahindra and Hyundai.

Dominating the charts, Maruti Suzuki holds the largest contribution to the growth in sales for February 2024. With the Maruti having six out of the 10 top cars on the list.

Maruti Suzuki Wagon R (19,412 units sold)

Starting at the top of the list, we have the Maruti Wagon R which had sales of 19,412 units in February 2024. This is a 14.94 % increase over their sales in February 2023, during which the company sold 16,889 units of the hatchback. The WagonR currently holds a 12.03% share in the top 10 list.

Tata Punch (18,438 units sold)

At number two, with quite the hit to the chart is the Tata Punch having 18,438 units sold and an 11.43% share in the top 10 list. Which is a significant year-by-year growth of 65.08% after having sold just 11,169 units in February 2023.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno (17,517 units sold)

Taking the third spot, we have the Maruti Suzuki Baleno after managing to sell 17,517 units of the hatchback in February 2024. However, year-by-year sales dipped by -5.78% compared to the 18,592 units sold in February 2023. The Baleno currently holds a 10.85% share in the top 10 list.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire (15,837 units sold)

Holding fourth place is the Maruti Dzire, which managed to sell 15,837 units in February 2024. However, these figures stand -at 5.78% as the company previously managed to sell 16,787 units in 2023. The Dzire hold 9.81% of the top 10 list.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza (15,765 units sold)

At the fifth spot, we have the Maruti Suzuki Brezza. This SUV managed to hold 9.77% of the top 10 list after managing to sell 15,765 units in February 2024. However, this number is still 0.14% down compared to last year’s figures which stood at 15,787 units.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga (15,519 units sold)

Experiencing an impressive 139.79% increase from the 6,472 units sold in February 2023, Maruti Suzuki managed to sell 15,519 units of the Ertiga in February 2024. As a result, the model managed to hold sixth position with a 9.92% share of the top 10 list.

Hyundai Creta (15,276 units sold)

Hyundai makes its entry in seventh place with the Creta. Which has experienced significant growth in sales after the release of the new face-lifted model. Hyundai managed to sell 15,276 units of Creta in February 2024, which is 9.47% of the top 10 list with year-by-year growth standing at 46.59%.

Mahindra Scorpio/ Scorpio N (15,051 units sold)

Taking home the eighth place, we have the Mahindra Scorpio / Scorpio N. These models hold 9.33% of the top 10 list after managing to sell 15,051 units in February 2024. This results in an astonishing 116.56% growth compared with sales in February 2023 (6,950 units sold).

Tato Nexon (14,395 units sold)

At number 9, we have Tata Nexon with an 8.92% share of the top 10 list with 14,395 cars sold in February 2024. This has resulted in a decent 3.46% growth from February the previous year.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx (14,168 units sold)

And last but not least. We have once again a Maruti Suzuki, with its Fronx which was released in April, 2023. This model managed to sell 14,168 units in February 2024 which contributed to 8.78% share of the top 10 list.
