There is a wave of faith on the second Monday of Sawan. Shiva devotees thronged the temples early in the morning today to offer water to Lord Bholenath in Shiva temples across the country. In Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, the doors of the temple were opened at 2:30 in the night and the Bhasma Aarti of the Lord was performed. Although Baba Mahakal’s Bhasma Aarti starts at 3 am every day in Sawan, but today, considering it to be Monday, Baba Mahakal woke up half an hour earlier to give darshan to the devotees.
Pandit Ashish Guru, the priest of Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple, told that as per the daily procedure of Bhasma Aarti, the silver door was opened after taking permission from Lord Veerbhadra. After that, the Lord was bathed with Panchamrit. He was also anointed with saffron water. Along with this, Baba Mahakal was also specially decorated with sandalwood and cannabis. During this time, thousands of devotees were present in Mahakal’s court. The devotees were chanting Baba Mahakal ki Jai.
Indian cricketer Umesh Yadav also participated in the Bhasma Aarti
This morning, Indian cricketer Umesh Yadav participated in the Bhasma Aarti of Baba Mahakal and also prayed to Baba Mahakal. Umesh Yadav is a staunch devotee of Baba Mahakal who has visited Ujjain earlier also to have darshan of Baba.
