Renunciation: Wayne Ajan Siribanyo, son of Malaysian telecom tycoon Anand Krishnan, former owner of old cellular operator Aircell, became a monk at the age of 18. He retired after giving up a luxurious life and assets worth around Rs 40,000 crore ($5 billion). Wayne Ajan Siripanyo's father Anand Krishnan is Malaysia's third richest man, whose businesses span the telecommunications, media, satellite, gas and real estate sectors. In Thailand he met his mother's family, visited an ashram and announced his retirement. Currently, Wen Ajahn Siribanyo lives as the head (abbot) of Tao Dam Monastery, located on the border of Thailand and Myanmar.
