New Delhi. A handwritten letter was found on a Vistara flight from Paris to Mumbai, causing a stir, due to which the plane had to make an emergency landing at Mumbai airport. The letter indicating the presence of a bomb in the plane was found by a crew member in the air sickness bag, after which immediate action was taken. On receiving the bomb threat, the flight crew immediately informed the Mumbai airport authorities. Emergency protocols were immediately implemented, and the plane was given priority for landing. The flight, carrying a total of 306 persons, including passengers and crew, landed safely at 10:19 am on Sunday. After the emergency landing, all the passengers were safely evacuated from the plane.
Vistara Airlines said Flight UK 024 had taken off from Paris' Charles de Gaulle International Airport bound for Mumbai. Due to this alarming note, a full emergency was declared at 10:08 am, just minutes before the plane was due to land in Mumbai. There were 294 passengers and 12 crew members on board the plane, all of whom were safe.
The incident comes after similar threats on other flights in recent days. Earlier, flights from Chennai to Mumbai and Delhi to Varanasi had received bomb threats, causing much concern and necessitating emergency landings for thorough checks. In both cases, no explosives were found on the plane. Earlier, an IndiGo flight from Chennai to Mumbai also received a bomb threat. The crew received a letter warning that the plane would be blown up. Security agencies were immediately alerted, following which thorough checks were carried out. Passengers were safely deboarded, and the plane was isolated and checked, but no bomb was found.
