There should be no violence and atrocities on Hindus – Baba Ramdev on violent protests in Bangladesh.
Bangladesh has been in the grip of severe violence for the past few days, and the situation worsened after Sheikh Hasina resigned as Prime Minister on Monday. With her resignation, Hasina fled the country, where the anarchy spread. The protesters wreaked havoc and destruction across the country. During this period, minority Hindus in the country were attacked by protesters and their houses set on fire. Disappointment prevails in India over the incident, with yoga guru Baba Ramdev expressing his dismay, saying that there should be no cruelty or atrocities on Hindus. Yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Tuesday expressed concern over the dire situation amid unrest in the South Asian nation of Bangladesh. Baba Ramdev also praised the opposition leaders of the country for supporting the government's policy on the prevailing uncertainty and unrest in Bangladesh. Glad to have opposition with government: Ramdev Baba Ramdev said in his own video, “There should be no cruelty or oppression of Hindus in Bangladesh – whether they are Hindus doing business there, or the Indian people living there, whether it's Hindu temples there. The whole country should unite for this.” He said, “For the first time, I am happy to have the entire opposition. This should be the policy of India. Otherwise, the way Islamic fundamentalism is spreading in the neighboring countries will be dangerous for the country.” “This unity must be maintained in the coming times. Those who want to divide the country in the name of reservation, casteism – this is not right. Therefore, 19 thousand Indians in Bangladesh should pay attention,” Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said on Tuesday Parliament said: The number of Indian citizens in Bangladesh is estimated at 19,000, of whom about 9,000 are students. He ensured that the government was in touch with the Indian community in Dhaka. Last month in July most of the students returned to India, the Foreign Minister told the Lok Sabha. Jaishankar also said that former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sought India's permission to visit here in a very short time. He arrived in India on Monday evening.
