The RO plant remained a showpiece at the Ramlila Ground in Mau Bazaar
Maharajganj/Raebareli: The RO plant of about 1000 litres capacity installed at Ramlila Ground in the market to provide clean and cold water to the shopkeepers of Mau market, passersby and Mau village residents is proving to be useless. People go there eagerly to drink water and return disappointed. People are facing the problem of drinking water in summer.
Let us tell you that, an RO plant was established about five years ago from the area Panchayat fund for more than five lakh rupees to provide pure drinking water to shopkeepers, passersby and villagers in the Ramlila Ground located in Mau Bazaar. Initially, everyone took full advantage of it, but it got damaged due to lack of maintenance. The villagers alleged that the block administration is doing a formality in the name of repair. In such a situation, on one hand people are dying due to illness in the scorching heat of 47 degrees, on the other hand, people are not even able to get clean drinking water from this RO plant installed in Mau Bazaar, which they need. It has become a compulsion to buy bottled water from outside.
Shopkeeper Barkau Singh said that in this scorching heat, he has to buy many bottles of water, which makes his pockets loose. Due to the lack of cold and pure drinking water, he has to wander here and there. The attractive looking RO plant is teasing the thirsty people. ACM MNREGA said that he has received information from BDO Varsha Singh about the breakdown of the RO plant. It will be repaired and made operational in two to three days.
