In this, Section 40 of the Wakf Act 1995 is repealed, under which the Wakf Board had the right to declare any property as Wakf property. The Waqf Act, 1995 shall be renamed as the Integrated Waqf Management, Empowerment, Performance and Development Act, 1995. Both Muslims and non-Muslims will have formal representation in the Central Waqf Council and State Waqf Boards. The Act will affect other backward classes in Muslim communities; Providing representation to Shia, Sunni, Bohra, Akhakani.
