The District Magistrate inspected the Municipal Office
Chunar. District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan reached the municipality office to inspect the Municipal Council. After reaching there on Thursday at around 2:30 PM, first of all she inspected the birth and death registration counter, name transfer counter, dispatch counter, tax assessment counter as well as other departmental counters and attendance register. She asked for the register of applications received from all the counters, which was not available. District Magistrate, dissatisfied with the working style of the employees, reprimanded the employees of all the counters. After that, she took information about the barren and Nazul lands under the municipality.
With reference to some houses built on Nazul lands, he said that when water tax is being collected by giving water connection, then tax should also be collected from them or the houses built so far should be razed. While leaving after the investigation process for about an hour, he told the Executive Officer Rajpati Vaish that the drainage system in the city is not in good condition and it should be repaired as soon as possible.
When the district magistrate was asked about the investigation and the action to be taken after the deficiencies found after the investigations, he said that action will be taken against the culprits. During this, Ashok Kumar Awasthi, resident of Tedhinim, complained to the district magistrate that his name was registered in the tax assessment list, which was cancelled by the municipal officials and someone else's name was registered, due to which a dispute regarding ownership has arisen. The district magistrate directed the executive officer to take the matter seriously and resolve it soon. During this, sub-district magistrate Rajesh Kumar Verma, tehsildar Yogendra Sharan Shah, executive officer Rajpati Vais, water works engineer Saurabh Singh along with municipal officials and employees were present.
