Suspense continues as ASI survey of Waju Ghana in Kianwabi next hearing on August 20
The Allahabad High Court today heard a plea seeking the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to inspect the sealed temple in Varanasi's Gnanavabi Masjid. The petition was heard by a separate bench headed by Justice Rohit Ranjan Aggarwal. The Hindu side has demanded that the disputed site i.e. Waju Gana should be scientifically investigated by ASI just as ASI has investigated the rest of Gyanwabi. Hindu side's argument – SC does not seal bathroom In today's hearing, arguments were presented from the Hindu side, saying that the bathroom survey is crucial to solving the Sringar Gauri case. The court asked the petitioner's lawyer Saurabh Tiwari how he could order its survey when the Vajukana has been sealed as per the Supreme Court order. At the same time, information was conveyed to the court from the Hindu side that the Supreme Court has ordered that the Shiv Lingam found in the bathroom should not be sealed. The next hearing will be held on August 20. The court also questioned the maintainability of the petition, and the High Court has ordered the Muslim side to respond in this matter. In this case, the Muslim side has to file a reply within four weeks. After this, the petitioner should also file a review petition in response to the Muslim side. The next hearing in the case will be held on August 20. The petitioner has claimed that this petition has been filed on behalf of Rakhi Singh, the main petitioner in the Chiringar Gauri case. The petition said Sealed Vaju Ghana should also be inspected like the entire Gnanawabi campus. Petitioner Rakhi Singh was represented by his lawyer Saurabh Tiwari and senior lawyer Syed Farman Ahmed Naqvi appeared on the Muslim side. Last week, when the petition came up for hearing in the High Court, the Muslim side did not appear in court. Hindu temple evidence in ASI report! In fact, after the Shivalinga was discovered about 2 years ago, the entire bathroom was sealed. The ASI survey of Gnanavabi found many evidences that it is a Hindu temple. As per the ASI report, the Hindu side has claimed that there was a big Hindu temple earlier and it was built in the Nagar style. The Muslim side continues to reject such claims.
