Jamui district's Sone police on Wednesday busted a family of child traffickers. In this case, the police rescued a seven-month-old baby girl who was stolen from Chiada, West Bengal. One person has also been arrested on charges of theft. The local police handed over both the stolen girl and the accused to a police team from Kolkata. On Wednesday, the rescued girl and the arrested accused were handed over to the Kolkata Police, who brought the girl's mother from the Muchipara police station in Sealdah. While holding a press conference at Sono police station on Wednesday in connection with the case of the child who stole from the footpath, Jaja STPO Rajesh Kumar said Suresh Das and his father Nand Kishore Das, a resident of Lakankiyari Ravidas Dhola, were employed. Bargaining was going on at the maternal uncle's house to sell the girl for six thousand rupees. But in the meantime, the constable there came to know about it and informed the Sono police station in-charge on the night of May 21. After receiving information about the theft and bargaining of the girl, Jaja along with STPO, Police Station Head Comm Inspector Dinanath Singh and other officials rescued the girl. During this time, the main culprit Debu alias Suresh Das escaped but his father Nandkishore Das was caught by the police. Police are also investigating others in connection with this case. An FIR has been registered at Muchipara police station regarding the incident.
