Stock market strengthened in special trading session, Sensex closed beyond 74 thousand
There will be a holiday in the stock market in Mumbai on 20th May due to voting.
New Delhi, May 18 (Tezzbuzz Reporter) Sensex and Nifty closed with gains during the special trading session of the domestic stock market on Saturday for testing the disaster recovery site. Sensex once again crossed the level of 74 thousand points and Nifty closed above 22,500 points. There will be a holiday in the stock market due to voting in Mumbai on the first trading day of next week i.e. 20th May.
A special trading session was organized today with the intention of testing the preparations made to face any emergency situation in the stock market. In such a special trading session, the trading of the stock market will be carried out from the primary site for disaster recovery (DR). ) is shifted to the site. Today's trading was done in two separate sessions.
BSE Sensex today started the first session trading with a slight gain of 4.43 points at the level of 73,921.46 points. The stock market managed to jump 158 points in the trading of this session, while in the second session this index jumped 245.73 points to reach 74,162.76 points. After the end of trading of both the sessions, the Sensex closed at 74,005.94 points with a gain of 88.91 points.
Like the Sensex, NSE's Nifty today started the first session trading with a gain of 46.75 points at the level of 22,512.85 points. There were fluctuations within a limited range during trading. With the support of buying, this index gained 54.15 points to reach 22,520.25 points. Due to selling pressure, it also dived to 22,470.05 points. After the end of trading of both the sessions, Nifty closed at 22,502 points with a gain of 35.90 points.
