Smriti Mandhana’s brand value expected to surge up to 30% after RCB’s WPL 2024 win

Smriti Mandhana’s Royal Challengers Bangalore Women recently made history as the side won their maiden WPL (Women’s Premier League) title, defeating Delhi Capitals women in the summit clash.

Mandhana managed to break RCB’s title curse, with the men’s team trying to get their hands on the title since 2008.

However, Mandhana’s WPL win has put her and her teammates under the spotlight for marketers. According to several brand experts, Mandhana’s market value is guaranteed to surge after the WPL win.

“She currently enjoys a brand value in the range of USD 10-12 million, which is expected to go up by about 30 percent with a growing brand portfolio and fee by the end of the year,” Aviral Jain, Managing Director, Valuation Advisory Services, Kroll, was quoted as saying by MSN.

He also added that the brands will be keen on adding Mandhana to their brand as an ambassador for them, leveraging RCB’s first title win as goodwill. “This achievement has propelled her (Mandhana) into the spotlight, making her a very attractive proposition for marketers given the upcoming men’s IPL and perhaps also explore joint team campaigns with RCB,” Jain said.

RCB has always been a popular team: Tuhin Mishra

Further enhancing Mandhana’s status as a top tier star in sports, Managing Director of Baseline Ventures, Tuhin Mishra, highlighted just what the title win with RCB women can mean for Mandhana in terms of her PR.

“RCB has always been a popular team. However, the men’s team never won the (IPL) trophy. But suddenly this girl (Mandhana) came. She had a disastrous season one because it was her first year as a captain. But then she came out with a bang because of her captaincy skills. She is a great leader and a motivator. All players under her say that. And she has also backed it up with her performance and she has been among the top scorers. All this adds up,” Mishra said.
