Scholar with record for most papers named nanomedicine ‘Champion’ by UK Society
The British Society for Nanomedicine is at the forefront of nanomedicine research in the UK, fostering collaboration among various stakeholders including industry, academia, clinicians, and the public. Champions of the society, which include early career researchers and academics, serve as local ambassadors, promoting the advancement of nanomedicine.
Aadarsh is a high achiever with numerous achievements under his belt, including being one of the youngest Indian Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society in its 200-year-old history, being elected at the remarkable age of 19.
By 19, he already had 23 research papers published in international journals, a feat which got him listed in the India Book of Records as the ‘undergraduate with the most research papers published’ in 2015.
RESEARCH AND ACHIEVEMENTS
Dr. Aadarsh Mishra graduated from St Francis’ College, Lucknow, and went to study mechanical engineering at Manipal University, Karnataka. Due to his passion and work in condensed matter physics, he secured a spot in a summer research programme at the esteemed Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. There, he focused on titanium alloys crucial for aerospace applications.
He then became a research and development engineer at Cardiff University, where he authored a book titled ‘Introduction to Wear,’ addressing material wear, a topic receiving heightened attention among researchers with limited book coverage.
Additionally, he earned a research project fellowship at the prestigious University of Oxford.
Aadarsh’s research focuses on rheology and biomechanical modelling of agarose gels and soft tissues. His groundbreaking work in this area involves investigating the biomechanical properties of agarose hydrogels as a mimic for soft tissues.
By mimicking heart and kidney tissues using agarose hydrogels, Aadarsh aims to revolutionise elastography techniques such as Magnetic Resonance Elastography (MRE) and Shear Wave Elastography (SWE).
Aadarsh’s innovative contributions extend beyond academia. During his tenure at Alesi Surgical Ltd. in Cardiff, he co-invented the ‘electrode shield,’ a design later filed as an international patent.
A prolific researcher, Aadarsh has published a chapter in the book ‘Power Ultrasonics’ and presented his work at prestigious international conferences such as the Annual European Rheology Conference.
His collaborative spirit and inventive prowess have also been evident in his co-authorship of a high-impact paper in Nano Letters and his work on defence projects at IIT Delhi.
