The state police submitted before the court that it had taken effective steps to prevent the mob 7000 people entered and the gathering was so large it led to a chaotic situation. It further said that several police personnel were also injured and that the place of occurrence has been intact.
“If 7000 people had to come, they cannot come walking…this is absolute failure of state machinery,” the bench asked during the hearing and added, “Sorry state of affairs…how can doctors work without fear?”
The body of a woman doctor, a second-year PG medical student, was found inside the seminar hall of the hospital last week and the preliminary autopsy indicated that she was sexually assaulted before her murder.
