Requirement of Effective Majority in Rajya Sabha: According to the rules, a motion to remove the Speaker must be passed by a majority vote in the Rajya Sabha (i.e. a majority of the then members of the Rajya Sabha, excluding vacancies). Also, it has to be approved by a simple majority in the Lok Sabha. The India Bloc has 87 MPs and more than 80 have signed it. 4-5 Congress MPs have left and they too will leave soon.
