Raghav Chadha Raises Concerns Over Skyrocketing Airport Prices and Air Pollution in Parliament

Raghav Chadha: During a speech in Parliament, Raghav Chadha highlighted the struggles of common air travelers, criticizing the unjustifiable costs of basic amenities at airports. “A ₹20 water bottle is sold for ₹100, samosas cost ₹350, and tea is priced at ₹250. The common man is forced to rely on water to fill his stomach due to such high prices,” Chadha said.

Addressing North India’s Air Pollution Crisis

In the Rajya Sabha during Zero Hour, Chadha also turned his attention to the worsening air pollution in North India. He proposed both immediate and long-term solutions to address the issue.

Short-Term Solution: Providing financial aid to farmers for purchasing machinery to clear stubble without burning it.

Long-Term Solution: Encouraging crop diversification, moving from water-intensive crops like paddy to alternatives such as cotton, maize, and edible oil.

“Air pollution is not just a Delhi-centric issue; it impacts all of North India. We must act decisively to protect public health,” he urged.

Chadha’s speech resonated with concerns over both economic exploitation and environmental degradation, emphasizing the need for systemic reforms.
