Qualcomm launches the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor with on-device AI capabilities

‘The Mobile Platform supports a wide range of AI models including large language models (LLMs) such as Baichuan-7B, Llama 2, Gemini Nano and Zhipu ChatGLM,’ the company said in a press release. This move signals Qualcomm’s commitment to staying at the forefront of AI technology integration in mobile devices.

Gamers can expect a treat with the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3, as it introduces new select Snapdragon Elite Gaming features to the 7-series. These include the Game Post Processing Accelerator and the Adreno Frame Motion Engine 2, promising enhanced game effects and desktop-level visuals, raising the bar for mobile gaming experiences.

The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 also brings an 18-bit cognitive ISP for top-notch photography capabilities.

Chris Patrick, senior vice president and general manager of mobile handsets at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., expressed excitement about the platform’s potential, stating, “Today, we embark on the latest expansion in the 7-series to create new levels of entertainment for consumers — integrating next-generation technologies for richer experiences.”

Louis Li, President of OnePlus China, announced OnePlus as one of the first smartphone brands to adopt the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 Mobile Platform. ‘With this powerful platform, we are excited to bring our customers outstanding on- device intelligence, exceptional gaming experiences, and remarkable photography capabilities, among other features,’ he said.

Key OEMs including OnePlus, realme, and SHARP are set to adopt the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3, with the first devices expected to be announced in the coming months.
