Punjab: Punjab: BSP candidate takes video of voting, shares on social media, case registered
In the last phase of the Lok Sabha elections, today i.e. June 1, polling will be held for 57 constituencies in 8 states. During this period, polling is taking place in all 13 constituencies in Punjab. As voting continues, a video of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate Surinder Singh Kamboj casting his vote in Ferozepur Lok Sabha constituency has surfaced. Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Surinder Singh Kamboj is seen in the said video showing the EVM while casting his vote in Ferozepur, Punjab. In the video, he is clearly seen pressing the button of the EVM, however after pressing the button of the EVM, the slip coming out of the VVPAT is shown in the video. After taking a video while voting, the video was also shared on social media. FIR Registration: An FIR was registered against the action of Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Surinder Singh Kamboj. Informing about the case, Ferozepur Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Diman said that a case has been registered against a BSP candidate in Ferozepur. Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Surinder Singh Kamboj, who is contesting from Ferozepur constituency, took a video of the EVM machine while casting his vote in Guruharsahe's Jiwan Arai village and shared it on social media. A case has been registered at the Guruharsai police station. DEPUTY COMMISSIONER TAKES ACTION Punjab Chief Electoral Officer Sibin C. Ferozepur Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Diman immediately took action against Surinder Singh Kamboj and another unidentified person after the issue spread on social media. Action against Aam Aadmi MLA: Aam Aadmi MLA from Rajpura, Punjab, Neena Mittal also took a video while casting her vote in violation of Election Commission guidelines. He also shared this video on social media but later deleted the video. Action was taken against them. Surinder Kamboj's son Jagdeep Singh Goldi is an AAP MLA from Jalalabad constituency and his father is contesting Lok Sabha elections from BSP.
