The National Weather Service (NWS) has warned that heavy rains are expected on the East Coast including parts of New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland till Tuesday.
The weather department has said that due to heavy rains, there will be a threat of severe storms in parts of America from the northeast to the southeast. Along with this, the department has predicted winds of up to 120 km per hour and storms in Texas.

Last Sunday was the worst day of the year for bad weather, with more than 600 reports of storm damage reported across 20 states. Tornados and strong winds turned buildings into piles of rubble. Cars were overturned and power lines were downed, causing power outages across the state. Meanwhile, about 125,000 people were evacuated from their homes due to lightning and heavy rains.
The states where deaths have occurred due to the weather include 8 in Arkansas, 7 in Texas, 2 in Oklahoma and 5 in Kentucky. Local media reported that a 79-year-old woman was killed in Alabama on Monday morning when a tree fell on her.
