Change in Service Charges of Savings Accounts: According to a report by the English website Economic Times, Punjab National Bank has changed the charges for essential services related to savings accounts. After this change, it is very important to maintain a minimum balance in the savings account. Apart from this, there have been changes in demand draft preparation and issuance charges, check clearance charges, return charges and locker rental charges. What's special is that if a customer doesn't have the minimum balance in their account, the bank will charge them that month as per the new rule. Earlier, if the average minimum balance in the bank accounts was below three charges per month, now it has been changed to one per month. The report says that it is necessary to maintain a minimum balance of Rs 500 in rural areas. 500 in his account. Customers opening accounts in semi-urban branches with a minimum balance of Rs. 1000 and customers opening accounts in urban and metropolitan branches Rs. 2000 minimum balance in their account. If the minimum balance is less than 50%, the fee will increase, the statement said. If the minimum balance in the account is less than 6%, it will come down to Rs 1 and a maximum of Rs 80 in rural areas. In semi-urban areas a maximum of Rs. 1 to a maximum of Rs.60, up to 5% in urban and metropolitan areas, and from Rs.1 to a maximum of Rs.100. Charges on Demand Draft: Currently, a customer is charged Rs 50 per Rs 10,000 and Rs 4 per Rs 1,000 between Rs 10,000 and Rs 1,00,000 if a customer issues a demand draft. For demand drafts above Rs 1,00,000, Rs 5 per Rs 1,000, with a maximum charge of Rs 600 and a maximum of Rs 15,000. After the change in rules, 0.40% of the total amount of the demand draft will be charged, with a minimum of Rs.50 and a maximum of Rs.15,000. A cash deposit of less than INR 50,000 will be charged an additional 50% over normal charges. 300 to be paid on withdrawal of the cheque. Due to the change in norms, if there is no money in the savings account, you will have to pay Rs.300 per cheque. For current account, cash credit and overdraft, the first three checks in a financial year are subject to Rs.300 per check return and the fourth check return is Rs.1000.
