PM Modi launched a scathing attack on Congress, said – the party spreading lies about EVMs should apologize – News India Live
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the Congress party for spreading false claims about electronic voting machines. The Prime Minister said that after the Supreme Court said that EVMs have strengthened India’s democracy, the party should apologize to the country.
Addressing an election rally in South Goa Lok Sabha constituency, he also said that Goa is a model of his party’s “satisfaction approach” to development and welfare. Speaking before an audience of around 50,000, the Prime Minister said Goa has seen some significant developments in his political career.
“All my turning points have happened in Goa. The party’s (BJP’s) decision to make me PM was also taken in Goa. My destiny was written in Goa,” Modi said.
Highlighting the EVM issue after the Supreme Court on Friday rejected a plea to revive paper balloting and termed suspicions of tampering with voting machines as baseless, the PM accused the Congress of spreading lies.
“Whenever they lose elections, they blame it on EVMs. They have tried to create doubt about EVMs.”
Asked by the audience whether the Congress “should apologize or not” over the issue, the Prime Minister said, “The SC has clearly said that EVMs are good, and elections conducted through EVMs are good, and It has strengthened democracy.”
“They will not apologize. They are on cloud nine with arrogance. They can go to any extent to defame Modi.”
Two phases of the general elections have ended and going by the response from the grassroots level and the enthusiasm of the voters, there are clear indications that there will be a Modi government “once again”, the Prime Minister said.
He said, the elections were between the ideologies of the BJP-led NDA which is working to fulfill the aspirations of the country’s citizens and believes in the saturation approach, and the “Indian alliance which is working for its selfish gains and families.” Does”.
The PM said, in his last speech in Goa, he had talked about the saturated approach of BJP.
“Saturation approach means ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’, Saturation approach means benefits of government schemes should be provided to all without any discrimination. Goa is the right model of the saturation approach,” he said.
The Prime Minister said, a lot has happened in the country in the last ten years but he will not sit idle.
“Modi was not born to (relax and) enjoy. Modi works day and night. Modi lives your dreams. Your dreams are Modi’s ‘Sankalp’,” he said.
The Prime Minister said, “After doing so much in the last ten years, he is still continuing it because it was just a trailer and a lot is still to be done.”
He said, “You note Modi’s guarantee, three crore new pucca houses will be built for the poor next year.” He said BJP workers should trace those who do not yet have their houses and assure them that they will get houses later on June 4 (the day the election results are expected to be declared).
