Bitru Paksha 2024: Gaya District DM Dr Thiagarajan and DTU Division TRM Rajesh Gupta jointly inspected the Gaya Railway Station on Wednesday. During this, each project was discussed and advised to complete within the time frame. The DM said that the devotees coming from outside will be informed about the movement of trains through LED screens. Apart from this all the facilities are near the station. During the inspection, the DM and DRM held a special meeting with the Railway Officer concerned and the Police Management Committee of the RPF and Railway Police. In the meeting, it was discussed about providing facilities to the devotees coming from other places. A station official told the meeting that currently around 85 pairs of trains are running. 40 to 50 thousand passengers travel daily from Gaya railway station. But during Pidru Paksha Mela, about 80 thousand to 90 thousand devotees travel daily. He said most of the pilgrims come from Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Haryana. Most trains arrive between 9pm and 4am. Therefore, along with security arrangements, other facilities should be kept in good condition. Apart from this, relocate the unused equipment scattered around the station premises. Instructions for installation of hoardings: DM advised that crowd control will be implemented in an efficient manner. He behaves kindly towards all the pilgrims. Railway Police, RPF and other officers should be properly recruited. He said that due to the construction of the new station, the footbridge is very narrow at some places, so adequate signboards should be placed and officials should be appointed. This can divert the sudden rush of devotees. 20 Toilets for Passengers: A total of 20 toilets have been set up for the convenience of passengers. Of these, five are inside the railway station and 15 are outside the railway station. Apart from this, a temporary toilet is also being constructed. DM advised that all toilets should be cleaned regularly and properly. The DM said that additional 6-7 locations should be identified and the train movement should be broadcasted on TV at those locations as well. Wherever there is light or dark spot. Install the lights immediately within 24 hours. District Transport Officer, Sub-Divisional Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police should coordinate themselves and fix area-wise fares of various auto-rickshaws, DM said. Show fixed fares on various auto rickshaws and e-rickshaws. The DM advised to continue monitoring through CCTV cameras installed in the surveillance station. It is reported that 66 high resolution CCTV cameras have been installed at present. It is additionally equipped with a 360-degree angle revolving camera. Additional cameras are required during Pithru Paksha Mela. On this, it was advised to ensure that the camera is fitted quickly after the assessment. One officer each from all departments of Railways and Station Manager of Railways will be present in the control room. At present 10 booking counters are functioning. Additional counters are made during Pithru Paksha Mela. A railway inquiry center will also function. The DM advised that the control room and helpline phone numbers should be displayed at an adequate place.
