Perambalur Lok Sabha Election Results 2024: BJP wins over AIADMK and DMK
Perambalur Lok Sabha constituency in Tamil Nadu is considered DMK's stronghold. Voting was held here in the first phase on April 19. 77.37 percent votes were reported in Perambalur Lok Sabha constituency. This figure is two percent less than the turnout in the last Lok Sabha elections. In 2019, 79 percent voting was recorded here. Before that, in the 2014 general elections, the voter turnout was over 80 percent. If you look at it like that, the voting percentage is lower this time than in the last election. A total of 23 candidates are in the fray in Perambalur Lok Sabha constituency but the main contest is between DMK, AIADMK and BJP. The ruling DMK has fielded Arun Nehru from the Perambalur constituency. On behalf of AIADMK, NT Chandramohan and Thenmozhi NTK. BJP presented a new challenge by fielding DR Parivendar from here. Mandate for 2019 Lok Sabha Elections: Dr. DR Parivendar won the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections. Later he contested the election on behalf of DMK. Parivendar defeated AIADMK's NR Sivapathy by a margin of 4,03,518 votes. Parivendar got 6,83,697 votes and Sivapathi got 2,80,179 votes. NTK candidate Shanti is third with 53,545 votes. Before that, the AIADMK had won the 2014 Lok Sabha elections here. AIADMK's RB Marudaraja got 4,62,693 votes. Once a DMK stronghold, Perambalur constituency was DMK's stronghold. Raja has won thrice from this Lok Sabha seat in 1996, 1999 and 2004. Along with this, actor-turned-politician T.Napoleon contested and won on behalf of DMK in 2009. DMK has won 6 times in Perambalur Lok Sabha constituency. Apart from this AIADMK has won five times, Congress twice and CPI once.
