Patanjali COVID Drug Case: The Delhi High Court on Monday (July 29) gave its verdict on the petition filed by several doctors' associations against Patanjali and Baba Ramdev. Justice Anup Bhambhani's bench has ordered Baba Ramdev to withdraw his comment within 3 days, in which he has said that Patanjali Ayurveda's Coronil is not just an immunity booster but a medicine to cure COVID-19.
Justice Bhambhani said, “I have directed Patanjali, Baba Ramdev and their promoters to remove some tweets within 3 days. If they fail to do so, the social media intermediaries will remove these tweets.”
In fact, during the Corona epidemic, Baba Ramdev had said that Patanjali Ayurveda's Coronil is not just an immunity booster but a medicine to cure Covid-19. Regarding this, the doctors' organization had filed this petition in 2021 against Baba Ramdev, his associate Acharya Balkrishna and Patanjali Ayurveda.
The doctors had sought interim relief to remove statements related to Coronil in relation to Patanjali's claim from various media platforms. The High Court had reserved the decision on May 21.
