Paradeep Phosphates says Central Pollution Control Board issues closure of notice to its Odisha plant

Paradeep Phosphates on Saturday, March 11 said the Central Pollution Control Board has issued closue of notice to the company’s Odisha plant.

The operations will remain closed till directions are complied with and till the plant gets a written permission to resume operations from the CPCB.

Paradeep Phosphates said the plant is already shut for annual maintenance activities. The company said it eexpects to resolve the matter at the earliest.

On Tuesday, March 19, it was reported that the company shut down its ammonia and urea plants in Goa due to the breakdown of a gas compressor. “The company has shut down the ammonia and urea plants at Goa due to breakdown of a synthesis gas compressor,” Paradeep Phosphates said in a stock exchange filing.

However, the company did not disclose the timeline to resume operations and the measures taken to address the issue.

Paradeep Phosphates shares ended 0.59% at 68 apiece on March 23. The stock has gained 35.59% in the past year.
