Pakistan Imran Khan : Thousands of supporters of former Prime Minister Imran Khan have taken to the streets in Pakistan. One year has passed since the arrest of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan. Thousands of Imran's supporters held a huge rally in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Monday for his release. Supporters of former Prime Minister Imran vowed to make a coordinated effort for his release by holding a similar rally in the capital Islamabad by the end of the month.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday held a rally in Swabi district of the party-ruled province bordering Punjab. The rally was addressed by party president Gohar Ali Khan and general secretary Umar Ayub, besides Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur asked protesters to be ready to march to Islamabad in the coming weeks as the PTI plans to hold a major demonstration in the capital at the end of this month or early next month.
Imran Khan (71) was arrested on August 5 last year and taken to Attock jail. However, in September he was moved to Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi. Khan, who was the Prime Minister of Pakistan from August 2018 to April 2022, has more than 200 cases registered against him.
