Oscars 2024: What’s inside the Rs 1.4 crore gift bags for 20 nominees – Know it here
In the 2024 Oscars, 20 nominees are set to receive a luxurious assortment of gifts totaling $180,000 (approximately Rs 1.4 crore), as reported by CNBC.
The lavish gift package, more akin to a suitcase than a bag, comprises over 50 items, ranging from a Rs 1,200 Rubik’s Cube to an exclusive invitation for a Rs 41 lakh stay at a ski chalet in Switzerland.
Lash Fary, the founder of Distinctive Assets, explained, “It rarely ever fits into a single suitcase. We have a piece of Olympia luggage that’s the biggest rolling duffel bag they make. And then it usually spills over into these eco-friendly tote bags.” Notably, Distinctive Assets is not affiliated with the Academy.
Highlights of the contents inside the “Everybody Wins” gift bags include:
- The most extravagant offering is a three-night stay at Chalet Zermatt Peak in Switzerland, valued at $50,000 (around Rs 41 lakh). This chalet, honored as the “Best Ski Chalet” by the World Ski Awards, allows nominees to enjoy exclusive use of the entire space along with the option to bring up to nine guests.
- An invitation for a seven-day retreat at Southern California’s Golden Door spa, valued at $24,000 (approximately Rs 19 lakh), providing nominees with massages, farm-to-table meals, and mindfulness and wellness classes.
- A portable Schwank Grill, valued at $1,350 (around Rs 1 lakh).
- A $10,000 (roughly Rs 8.2 lakh) micro-needling treatment from Cynosure, designed to tighten and revitalize the skin and minimize common signs of aging or blemishes.
- A $25,000 (Rs 20 lakh) live show from mentalist Carl Christman, combining magic, mind reading, hypnosis, and comedy.
- A handcrafted bag by master artisans from Canada-based Elboque, with a value of $335 (about Rs 27,000).
