Only 36 percent in Colaba assembly constituency, highest in Mulund 59 percent – ..

Mumbai: In terms of assembly constituencies in the Lok Sabha elections in Mumbai, the lowest turnout was only 36.02 per cent in Colaba assembly constituency under South Mumbai Lok Sabha. Whereas Mulund, the North East seat of Mumbai, saw the highest turnout of 59.63 percent in the entire city. Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar himself was a contender for the ticket from South Mumbai. There are many explanations for the fact that a quarter of the voters in his own assembly constituency did not reach the polling stations.
On the other hand, an interesting thing was seen that the MLAs who themselves were candidates in the Lok Sabha elections, got the highest voting in their assembly constituencies. This trend was seen in Mihir Kotecha’s Mulund, Ravindra Vyakar’s Jogeshwari, Yamini Jadhav’s Byakhalla. However, this equation did not apply there as Varsha Gaikwad’s constituency did not fall under her Lok Sabha seat.
The average voting in North Mumbai Lok Sabha seat was 55.21 percent. Paika Borivali assembly constituency witnessed the highest turnout of 58.19 percent. Whereas Magathane recorded the lowest turnout of 51.30 percent.
The average voting in North East Mumbai Lok Sabha seat was 57.12 percent. The highest turnout was 59.63 percent in Mulund assembly constituency. Whereas Mankhurd recorded the lowest voting percentage of 49.37 percent.
On an average, 53.67 percent voting took place in the Lok Sabha seat of North West Mumbai. In this meeting, among the six assembly constituencies, the highest turnout was in Jogeshwari at 59 percent and the lowest was in Dindoshi at 50.10 percent. The average voting in North Central Mumbai Lok Sabha seat was 53.61 percent. Among the six assembly seats, the highest turnout was in Vile Parle at 56.01 percent and the lowest was in Chandivali at 49.03 percent.
