Observing Vat Savitri fast at Har ki Pauri ensures longevity of husband and gives happiness of children
Every year, Vat Savitri Vrat is observed on Jyeshtha Amavasya. In the year 2024, this fast will be observed on 6th June i.e. Thursday. Vat Savitri Vrat is observed for the long life of the husband, but in the scriptures, it has been said that observing this fast regularly will lead to the birth of a child.
According to religious beliefs, on the day of Vat Savitri Vrat, if women take a bath in the Ganges before sunrise and meditate at the Ganga Ghat and do puja, then they get the special benefits of Vat Savitri Vrat.
Importance of Vat Savitri Vrat in scriptures
It is also mentioned in the scriptures that if women take bath in Ganga at Haridwar or Har ki Pauri before sunrise on Jyeshtha Amavasya and meditate, chant mantras and do puja, then the relationship of husband and wife becomes unbreakable for seven births. On the other hand, by observing Vat Savitri fast, the health of the husband of married women always remains good, along with this, all the wishes of women who do not have children are also fulfilled.
Importance of bathing in Ganga at Har ki Pauri
Pandit Shridhar Shastri, an expert in scriptures, says that Haridwar Har Ki Pauri is a very sacred place in Hinduism. This is where Mother Ganga's first step from Gomukh to Haridwar, passing through the mountains. This Har Ki Pauri is said to be the place of penance of Lord Brahma and the place where Amrit (nectar) rains.
Women who observe Vat Savitri fast should first take a bath in the Ganga and then worship God. This increases the lifespan of married women's husbands. And women who do not have children get children.
