NTA cancels UGC-NET exam, case handed over to CBI
Live Hindi News :- UGC NET exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency to determine eligibility for the post of Assistant Professor and grant of graduate research in universities and colleges in India. This year's exam was conducted across the country last Tuesday. The NET exam, which was conducted through computers for the last few years, was conducted in OMR sheet mode this time.
In this case, the Union Education Ministry announced yesterday that the NET exam will be cancelled on the grounds that it has received information from the National Cyber Crime Unit that irregularities have taken place in the UGC NET exam. The Education Ministry has said that a notification regarding the new exam date will be issued later and the investigation of the irregularities will be handed over to the CBI.
Govind Jaiswal, Joint Secretary, Central Education Department, said yesterday that 11 lakh students had appeared in the UGC NET exam held on June 18 last year. It seems that there has been malpractice in this exam. However, this exam has been cancelled. Strict action will be taken against those involved in this malpractice.
The date of the re-examination will be announced soon, he said. At a time when students across the country are protesting that the NEET entrance exam for medical studies has been rigged, the cancellation of the UGC NET exam by the central government has caused a big stir.
