According to a report, the order issued the order while reviewing a complaint filed by Yogendra Singh Badiyal, a resident of Jaipur, Chairman of the Commission, Gyarsilal Meena and member Hemlata Aggarwal. The complainant alleged that JB Industries produces Vimal Pan Masala and distributes it across the country for sale. The petitioner said, "The three actors, including Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgan and Tiger Shroff, advertise it to increase its sales. The advertisement claims that it contains saffron. Whereas the truth is that the price of saffron is around Rs 4 lakh per kg and his paan masala with Tobacco Pouch comes for 5 rupees. In such a situation, it can not be added to it.
Invites diseases like cancer
The complaint alleges that misleading advertisements encourage more people to buy paan masala and tobacco combo, which eventually benefits the manufacturer. It further states that actors promote false claims saying that every grain of pan masala contains saffron. The petitioner said, "The manufacturer is doing business of crores of rupees and on the other hand common people are inviting diseases like cancer by consuming pan masala and harmful and deadly mixture of tobacco.
