Nothing Phone 2a Lag Issues: Nothing Releases Big Update Amid Complaints Of Poor Experience On New Phone; Check Improvements
Soon after the handset reached customers and tech reviewers, reports of lag and jitters in the UI started pouring in on social media, primarily X (formerly Twitter). It seems the company is aware of the feedback and is working to improve the situation.
In a recent move, the manufacturer has released a new update in its attempt to mitigate the issues on the Phone (2a). According to the update log, the company has tweaked the colour accuracy and saturation of the camera. Plus, the company optimised the brightness and tones of Ultra HDR images. Besides overall improvements, Nothing also improved the bokeh in portrait mode and optimised the colour consistency between the primary and ultrawide sensors.
Beyond the cameras, the company claimed it has improved the overall gaming performance, and optimised stutters and animations of apps, including the Recorder widget. Moving to bugs, the company fixed “flickering issues when launching apps from the lock screen”. A fix was introduced for issues such as the screen going black during incoming calls and more.

Other updates concern home and lock screen wallpapers, Quick Settings and the overall stability of the OS. To update to the latest version, you can head to the Settings app and look for the System Update option. Meanwhile, the Nothing Phone (2a) carries a starting price of Rs 23,999 on Flipkart.
