No Pakistan in oath of PM Modi: PM Modi invited the heads of the governments of the neighbouring countries to attend his swearing-in ceremony, but did not invite the PM of Pakistan
New Delhi. PM Narendra Modi is going to take oath for the third consecutive time on June 8. On this occasion, Modi has invited Mauritius PM Pravindra Jagannath, Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina, Bhutan PM Tshering Tobgay and Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe to attend the swearing-in ceremony. Modi has invited all of them personally. Officially, all leaders will now be invited to attend Modi's swearing-in. The special thing is that Modi has invited the heads of governments of all neighboring countries to his swearing-in, but has not invited Pakistan PM Shahbaz Sharif.
When Modi took oath as PM in 2014, he had invited the heads of governments of SAARC countries to the swearing-in ceremony. Nawaz Sharif, who was the PM of Pakistan at that time, had also come. Now Nawaz Sharif's brother Shahbaz Sharif is the PM of Pakistan, but Modi is very strict on the terrorism spread by Pakistan against India. This is why Modi has decided not to invite the PM of Pakistan to attend his swearing-in ceremony. The other heads of governments whom Modi has invited have agreed to come.
Modi is the first PM who has invited the leaders of other countries to his swearing-in ceremony. In 2019, Modi had invited the heads of governments of BIMSTEC countries to his swearing-in ceremony. However, meanwhile, there is also news that 75 global leaders including US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky have called Modi and congratulated him on the victory of BJP and NDA for the third time. The process of congratulating Modi from global leaders started after the results of the Lok Sabha elections were announced on June 1.
