New Delhi. Modi government's Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju introduced the Wakf Act Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha. With this, the opposition got a shock when Nitish Kumar's JDU, an ally of the government, supported the Wakf Act. JDU supported the bill and said that this bill is for transparency and it should be so.

Union Minister and Nitish Kumar's close aide Lallan Singh, who stood up to support the Waqf Act Amendment Bill on behalf of JDU, hit back at the opposition. He refused to accept the Waqf Act Amendment Bill as anti-Muslim. Lallan Singh said that when any institution becomes autocratic, the government will make a law to curb it and bring transparency. Lallan Singh targeted the opposition and said that they talk about the temple. Where did the talk of the temple come from? -Congress MP KC Venugopal opposed the Waqf Act Amendment Bill and said that it is a violation of the right to religious freedom given by the Constitution. He questioned whether any non-Hindu was included in the Ayodhya temple committee. He called it a division of society.
