NIA files chargesheet in 2023 attack on Indian High Commission in London
The NIA has taken a major step in the investigation of the attack on the Indian High Commission in London in 2023. The NIA has filed a charge sheet against the main culprits in the attack on the Indian High Commission in a special NIA court in Delhi. In the chargesheet filed by the NIA, Inderpal Singh Gaba, a British citizen from New Delhi and a resident of Hounslow, has been charged. The chargesheet states that the accused participated in an anti-India protest in front of the Indian High Commission in London on March 22, 2023 as part of the Khalistani separatist agenda. A charge sheet has now been filed against him. British national Inderpal Singh Gaba was arrested by the NIA on April 25. He was accused of separatist activities. Arrested at Gaba Attari border, the accused came to Pakistan from London in December 2023 and tried to cross from Pakistan at Attari border. The immigration officials there then arrested him in connection with the lookout circular issued against him. The NIA has started an investigation against Inderpal Singh Gaba and has advised him not to leave the country till the investigation continues. In a statement issued by the NIA, the accused's mobile phone was seized during the months-long investigation in the case. Several objectionable videos and photographs of the attack on the Indian High Commission in London in 2023 were recovered from this mobile phone. The NIA scrutinized the data obtained from the mobile phone of Gaba, who was involved in the attack on the high commission. Gaba's connection was confirmed in the investigation. The investigation conducted by the NIA so far has revealed that there was a conspiracy behind the 2023 attack in London. The attack was planned and carried out in retaliation for the action taken by the Punjab Police against Waris Punjab D President Amritpal Singh. The NIA statement said the attack was aimed at taking action against the organization and its leader. The NIA claims that the motive behind the violent attack on the Indian High Commission in London was anti-India and to promote Khalistan's demand to separate Punjab from India.
