Nepal government sent a protest note to the US embassy for not granting visa to cricketer Lamichhane

Kathmandu, May 30 (Tezzbuzz). The Nepal government has sent a protest note in protest against the denial of visa to Nepali cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane.
Nepal’s Foreign Ministry had refused to give a visa to cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane to play in the World Cup cricket. After protests by Lamichhane’s supporters and common people in Nepal, on Wednesday the Foreign Ministry sent a protest note to the US and sought a response in the Sandeep Lamichhane case.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Amrit Rai said that the US Embassy has assured the ministry that Lamichhane will soon be called for a visa interview. Amrit Rai claimed that further strategy will be made only after the US Embassy’s decision to call him for a visa interview by Thursday or Friday. He expressed confidence that Lamichhane should now get a visa.
Despite being acquitted of the rape charges, Lamichhane was denied a visa by the US Embassy, ​​while the ICC has given him the green signal to participate in the World Cup.
