Nepal: 11 people including 7 members of the same family died in Pokhara due to landslide, search for missing people continues
Kathmandu, July 12 (Tezzbuzz). A total of 11 people, including 7 members of the same family, have died in the landslides that occurred at different places in Pokhara last night. During the relief and rescue operations, the bodies of all these people have been removed from the debris. The security forces are searching for some more missing people.
All seven members of a house in Puranchaur of Pokhara Metropolitan City died when it was hit by a landslide. Security forces engaged in rescue and relief work pulled out the bodies of all seven people from the debris. Pokhara Police spokesperson Vasant Sharma said that relief and rescue work is going on continuously at all the places where the accident took place due to the landslide. So far 11 bodies have been pulled out from the debris.
Police spokesperson said that the bodies of seven people from one family have been recovered from Puran Chowk in Pokhara, three people from one family from landslide in Madi in Pokhara and two people from one family from Chainpur in Pokhara. Most of the dead are women and children. There are reports of about a dozen houses getting destroyed due to landslide at some other places. Relief and rescue work is going on at these places too.
