Ranchi: The Naxalite Martyrs Week will be held from July 28 to August 3 in commemoration of the martyrdom of Charu Majumdar and Kanhai Chatterjee. Considering this, the police headquarters has issued a warning to all district SPs. In a press conference on Sunday, Operations IG AV Homkar said: Naxalites tried to spread terror by distributing posters and leaflets in Saranda and Kolhan. During Martyrs' Week, Naxalites try to damage roads, bridges, trains, police stations and other government properties, Mr. Homkar said. He said that Naxalites are trying to save their existence by carrying out minor incidents especially on railways and roads. Adequate number of security forces have been deployed from the police headquarters level to protect government properties and public transport. Jharkhand Jaguar has been deployed in troubled areas. He said the Jharkhand Police is fully prepared to break the week-long blockade of Naxalites on the instructions of DGP Anurag Gupta. During this search operation, five kg of explosives buried by Naxalites were recovered from Tumbahaka under Tondo police station area. Naxalites have planted this IET to harm the police.
