Nag Panchami is today, why roti is not made on this day, know the religious reason

Nag Panchami 2024:Today, on 9th August, the festival of Nag Panchami will be celebrated across the country. Nag Panchami is a special festival in Hinduism. It is celebrated on the day of Sawan Shukla Panchami. It is believed that Kaal Sarp Dosh etc. in the horoscope can also be removed by worshiping on this day. If Rahu-Ketu are repeatedly causing harm in the horoscope of a person, then by appeasing the Nag Devta, this will stop.
The worship of Nag Panchami also removes the curse of Kaal Sarp Dosh. But do you know that roti is not made on this day? There is a special reason behind making roti. There is also a religious reason behind this.
The practice of not making bread
According to Astrologer Praduman Suri, 'Worshiping the snake god ends the fear of evil caused by snakes. Also, if Rahu-Ketu are repeatedly causing evil in the horoscope of a person, then appeasing the snake god will stop it.' Along with worshiping snakes on the day of Nag Panchami, there is also a belief of not making roti in the house. For years, elders have been saying that roti is not made in the house on this day.
What is the reason?
On the day of Nag Panchami, Lord Shiva and the Vasuna snake sitting around his neck are worshipped. There is also a tradition of feeding milk to snakes on this day. But making roti in the house is prohibited on this day. Actually, snakes are worshipped only for the peace of Rahu planet. Iron should especially not be used on that day. That is, using an iron pan on this day is also considered taboo.
Roti is made only on iron griddle, hence it is believed that roti should not be made on this day. Tawa (iron) is considered to be the cause of Rahu. If the griddle is used on this day, there is a possibility of Rahu Dosh or Rahu may get spoiled. Let us tell you that not only Nag Panchami, roti is not made on many other festivals in Hinduism like Makar Sankranti, Sharad Purnima and Diwali.
Pradosh Kaal is the most auspicious time for worship
According to celebrity astrologer Praduman Suri, it is right to worship the snake deity during Pradosh period. For special worship, the time from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm will be auspicious. If you are unable to worship during Pradosh period, you can worship at any time. The blessings of Lord Bholenath and the snake deity will remain.
