Most Wickets in PSL: Who Has Won The Maroon Cap & Fazal Mahmood Award So Far In Pakistan Super League?

The tournament started in 2016, but the award, named after former Pakistani cricketer Fazal Mahmood, was given from the second season in 2017 when several other awards were introduced in PSL.

The maroon cap is worn as an ongoing competition with the leading wicket-taker wearing the cap throughout the tournament until the final game, with the eventual winner keeping the cap and receiving the award after the PSL final.

Over the years, Pakistan’s ace pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi has dominated the charts in that respect, winning the award two times so far in seasons 2020 and 2022, while Andre Russell, the lone overseas player in the list, finished as the highest wicket-taker in the first edition of the league.

Pakistan’s Sohail Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Hasan Ali, Shahnawaz Dhani and Abbas Afridi have finished on top once each in the fast bowlers dominated list. Here is look at the list for top wicket-takers from all editions of PSL:
